This is a 1952 M-38 G-740 Jeep, made by the Willys Overland Company, who gave it the Willys model number "MC".  The M-38 was only produced from 1950 to 1952, with a total production of 45,473 units.  The M-38 was replaced with the M-38 A1 in 1952.  The M-38 was basically a military version of the civilian CJ3A.  A heavier frame and springs, lift shackles, rear mounted spare tire and gas can, pintle hook and bumperettes were a few modifications.  The passenger seat folded forward and the rear seat folded up as needed.  The engine was the same basic unit as the WWII Jeep, with improved carburation and ignition, along with a 24 volt waterproof electrical system.
